Munro bay is a one minute drive down the road which is an awesome fishing spot and great for snorkelling and kayaks. There are plenty of other bays to explore which you can discover while here. The walking tracks are a must, especially if you have a few more days to spare. Mount Manaia will give you a spectacular view of the Whangarei Harbour and is only a 2 hour hike. Ocean beach has the most perfect soft white sand to immerse your feet into, the waters are bright blue and waves great for surfing which is only 20 minutes away. This little town is filled with amazing artists and creatives that make locally sourced hand made goodies which you will find at the Parua Bay Farmers Markets every second Sunday.
